Prabhudeva & Shankar Mahadevan honoured by the President


President Ram Nath Kovind represented the prestigious awards Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday for the year 2019. Actor and dancer Prabhu Deva, the late journalist Kuldeep Nayyar (posthumously honored) and industrialist John Chambers were among those respected with the Padma Awards. Padma awards were displayed in a unique program wrote in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

This year, on the Republic Day, 112 Padma Awards including four Padma Vibhushan, 14 Padma Bhushan and 94 Padma Shri were announced. Among the award recipients, 21 ladies, 11 foreigners / non-resident Indians / persons of Indian origin / Overseas citizens of India, one transgender, three were awarded posthumously. Among them, the name of actor Kader Khan is likewise included.

Actor Mohanlal was granted the Padma Shri for his contribution in the film. In his profession of 40 years, Mohanlal has worked in more of 350 movies. Manoj Bajpai, Prabhu Deva, Shankar Mahadevan and actor Kader Khan from Entertainment Industry were granted the Padma Shri. Taking the honor of Lord God, actor Mohanlal Viswanathan and musician Shankar Mahadevan, the photos are getting viral via social media.

Grants were given in Art, Social Work, Public Affairs, Science and Engineering, Trade and Industry, Medical, Literature and Education, Sports, and Civil Services and so on. Padma Vibhushan for excellent and uncommon administration, Padma Bhushan for exceptional administration of high class and Padmashree is granted for special service in any field.
