Hollywood movie ‘Joker’ has now crossed the $ 1 Billion dollar in selling tickets around the globe on Friday. Now it is the first R rated Hollywood movie to cross this benchmark.
The Forbes report said that the budget of the movie was $62.5 million-budgeted DC Films movie crossed the $1 billion mark in raw global grosses’.
Joker is the fourth movie from the DC to cross this benchmark. The previous movies to cross the level was Aquaman ($1.15 billion), The Dark Knight Rises ($1.084 billion) and The Dark Knight ($1.005 billion), without any adjustments for inflation.
The movie shows the story of a mentally ill loner who gets fame by violence. The movie also faced a controversy which made people that it may increase violence.
Box office analyst Gitesh Pandya earlier also said that the movie will cross $ 1 billion benchmark.
